Items listed in this exception are warehouse SKUs with Fixed Ord Qty values assigned in the Stocking tab of Inventory Maintenance. A Fixed Ord Qty overrides your normal ordering (ROP/RSO) behaviour by ordering exactly the Fixed Ord Qty value every time the SKU's quantity-on-hand falls below its order point. Using Fixed Ord Qty is not a recommended practice because:
- Min/Max (EOQ) is a better and more flexible solution
- It is not responsive to customer demand and can lead to stock-outs
- Is an obscure way to manage order quantities
- Can keep SKUs from being managed via EOQ formula
Steps to process this report:
-
- Display the listed SKU in Inventory Maintenance
- Blank out the Fixed Ord Qty
- Adjust the Min Order Point if desired
- Save your changes
