Misc Issues

    • This listing shows SKUs with active locations (location code starts with a number) and blank quantity-on-hands. SKUs with blank QOH do not appear on ordering reports (MPO/RSO) and will not be automatically ordered as part of your regular order. Because these SKUs have active locations, it is unclear whether these items are desired on the sales floor.

      Steps to process this report:

      1. In Eagle Browser, open Inventory Maintenance (IMU).
      2. Type in the SKU and press Enter.
      3. Decide if the item is desired on your sales floor. Repeat the steps below for each SKU on the report.

      If Yes:

      1. Enter 0 for the SKU's QOH, and press Change (F5).
      2. Set the Store Closeout = N (Codes Tab), and press Change (F5).
      3. This item will now show up to be ordered on your next regular order.

      If No:

      1. Enter DRXX in the Location field (where XX is the year, e.g. DR24, or your store's closeout/dropped location code), and press Change (F5).
      2. Set the Store Closeout = Y (Codes Tab), and press Change (F5).
      3. This item will disappear from the report and will not risk being accidentally ordered.

    • Setting the second location code (Location 2) to "MDR" and Store Closeout = Y flags a SKU to be part of Mango's Closeout Management process (COM). Both conditions: Location 2 = MDR  (or starts with MDR) AND Store Closeout = Y need to be met.

This report shows SKUs that have MDR in Location 2 but do not have Store Closeout set to Y. Therefore, these SKUs are in an ambiguous state and are either not being closed out, or risk being inadvertently closed out if/when Store Closeout is set to Y.

      Steps to Process this Report:

      1. Launch Eagle Browser.
      2. Enter in the SKU.
      3. Decide if you intend to close the SKU out.
      • If Yes - set Store Closeout = Y (Codes tab) and press change. This SKU will be managed via COM next month.
      • If No - click on the +Location hyperlink (Stocking tab) and blank out Location 2. Press OK and then Change.
    • These SKUs have an errant zero in their Max Stock Level. This condition can be introduced through a bug in Eagle Mobile+. This condition should be fixed so that Inventory Maintenance changes can be made to the SKU and to correct order point calculation.

      Steps to process report:

      1. Launch Eagle Browser and Inventory Maintenance.
      2. Type in the SKU.
      3. Blank-out the zero in Max Stock Level.
      4. Press Change (F5).
    • This listing shows items that have "U" (temporarily unavailable) set as their Store Closeout value. However, these SKUs are now available to be ordered through your RSC. Since SKUs with a Store Closeout value other than "N" do not show up on your reorder reports, action needs to be taken to either allow these SKUs to be reordered, or mark them as closed out in your store.

This situation can happen when a temporarily unavailable item is reinstated and the item is missed when working Item Change Management (ICM).

      Steps to process this report:

      1. In Eagle Browser, open Inventory Maintenance (IMU).
      2. Type in the SKU and press Enter.
      3. Decide if the item is desired on your sales floor. Repeat the steps below for each SKU on the report.

      If Yes:

      1. Set Store Closeout = N (Codes Tab), and press Change (F5).
      2. This item will now show up to be ordered on your next regular order.

      If No:

      1. Enter DRXX in the Location field (where XX is the year, e.g. DR24, or your store's. closeout/dropped location code), and press Change (F5).
      2. Set the Store Closeout = Y (Codes Tab), and press Change (F5).
    • Items listed in this exception are warehouse SKUs with Safety Stock values assigned in the Stocking tab of Inventory Maintenance. Although safety stock can have narrow use cases, the typical SKU will benefit more from using min order point instead of safety stock.

Safety Stock adds to the SKU's order point when ROP (order point calculation) runs. For example, if an SKU's Order Point is calculated to be three and has a Safety Stock of 1, then the SKU's resultant Order Point is 4.

Min Order Point sets a floor where the order point will not fall below. For example, if you set Min Order Point to 4 then the Order Point will never fall below 4.

For example, you have a door hinge and always want four on the shelf. If you use Safety Stock in the example above, and the Order Point falls to 2 at some point, then Safety Stock will only generate an Order Point of 3. However, if you use a min Order Point of 4 instead, your order point will never be less than 4.

      Issues with Safety Stock

      • Is easily confused with Min Order Point and is not as effective
      • Creates confusion when items also have a Min Order Point and/or Max Stock Level
      • Can create backstock and overstock
      • Is an obscure way to manage order quantities (few stores use it)
      • Can reduce labor efficiencies with EOQ (min/max)

      Steps to process this report:

      1. Display the listed SKU in Inventory Maintenance.
      2. Blank out the Safety Stock.
      3. Adjust the Min Order Point if desired.
      4. Save your changes.
    • Items listed in this exception are warehouse SKUs with Fixed Ord Qty values assigned in the Stocking tab of Inventory Maintenance. A Fixed Ord Qty overrides your normal ordering (ROP/RSO) behaviour by ordering exactly the Fixed Ord Qty value every time the SKU's quantity-on-hand falls below its order point. Using Fixed Ord Qty is not a recommended practice because:

      • Min/Max (EOQ) is a better and more flexible solution
      • It is not responsive to customer demand and can lead to stock-outs
      • Is an obscure way to manage order quantities
      • Can keep SKUs from being managed via EOQ formula

      Steps to process this report:

        1. Display the listed SKU in Inventory Maintenance.
        2. Blank out the Fixed Ord Qty.
        3. Adjust the Min Order Point if desired.
        4. Save your changes.
    • Steps to process this report:

      1. Display the listed SKU in Inventory Maintenance.
      2. Click Additional Ordering Info (lower right).
      3. Change Product Source to Catalog Product Source from the report.
      4. Click OK.
      5. Press Change (F5).
