Monitoring Dollar Accuracy ensures big inventory value swings (usually due to large boundary errors) are understood, corrected and reported to your owner. Like all Operational Levels, Dollar Accuracy is best monitored through your Inventory Accuracy Scorecard.
Use the steps below to guide you through filling out the blue boxes in your Level 2 - Dollar Accuracy Checklist.
Steps to monitor Operational Level 2 - Dollar Accuracy
- Open your Charts.pdf (Review Email)
- Page down to your Inventory Accuracy Scorecard (page 3)
- Record your Boundary Accuracy figure (red bullet #1 above)
- Record your Dollar Accuracy figure (red bullet #2 above)
-
If your Dollar Accuracy figure is showing "??" this means that your store's twelve-month Count Sheet Completion metric has dropped below 75%. Note: the Level 0 Completion Metric reported on your Scorecard is a three-month metric which may differ from your twelve-month figure. Dollar Accuracy requires at least 75% completion of Count Sheets for its metric to be reliable. 75% equates to nine out of ten months of good Count Sheet Completion.
If your store is starting to process its Count Sheets after a pause or a remodel then you can still monitor your Boundary Accuracy and estimate Dollar Accuracy figure by averaging your Random Count and Other Types Net Dollar Variances together. Once your twelve-month completion pops above 75% you will begin to see your Dollar Accuracy figure being reported. -
If your Boundary Accuracy metric is reading 99% or below then you should turn your attention towards fixing your store's Boundary Issues.
- Fix Boundary Issues

If your Boundary Accuracy is in good shape (99% or 100%) but your Dollar Accuracy is still measuring low then your store is removing a lot of inventory value while it's processing Mango's Count Sheets. While this is typical behavior for a store newly using Mango, it is not something you want to see persisting month after month.
- If newly using Mango then keep on monitoring Dollar Accuracy for six months. Dollar Accuracy should steadily improve as your store cleans up its phantom inventory while going about its Mango Count Sheet processing.
- If your store has been using Mango's Count Sheets for over six months and are still struggling with Dollar Accuracy then your store is likely experiencing shrinkage issues and the best course of action is to discover and fix the shrinkage source. You may find some SKUs are not classified (such as live goods or lumber) in a way that Mango can recognize or there is a procedural issue (such as uncontrolled deleting) causing the problem; poor Dollar Accuracy can be caused by significant (professional) theft (usually internal), but it is rare.
- Operational Level 3 - Shrinkage - reducing shrinkage will increase Dollar Accuracy.
- If newly using Mango then keep on monitoring Dollar Accuracy for six months. Dollar Accuracy should steadily improve as your store cleans up its phantom inventory while going about its Mango Count Sheet processing.

If your Dollar Accuracy is 95% or better then congratulations, you have passed this level! Remember to keep an eye on Dollar Accuracy each month to make sure boundary issues are kept in check. As you work on Shrinkage, your next Operational Level your Dollar Accuracy will further improve!
