Shooting Outs

The purpose of this report is to highlight SKUs that were missed (not counted) during your stores weekly shooting outs process.

  • Steps to process this report:

    1. Determine which day(s) your store has a policy of shooting outs.
    2. Type the SKU listed on your Exception Report into Inventory Maintenance.
    3. Look at the SKU's transaction history (click on Qty. on Hand to launch ITR).
    4. Ask your inventory coordinator why the SKU was not counted during its shooting outs window.

Your goal is to discover and fix the procedural or personnel issue that is getting in the way of shooting outs consistently!

For example, if 6305833 Wireless Thermostat showed up on your report indicated it was out, and not counted for 12 days. This means the SKU had zero quantity-on-hand for twelve days in a row, and should have been counted if the department was being shot out thoroughly. Perhaps a wrong item is placed on the SKU's hook or the hook is gone completely, or perhaps the aisle was not "shot" that week.

*Note: RSC PERCENT DAYS OUT column indicates the percentage of days the SKU was also out at your store's warehouse. This column can be helpful if using this report to investigate outs issues.
