Remove

After the markdown sequence has been fully exhausted, remaining unsold items will continue to be on promotion at a 90% discount with a promotional price ending in 0. Eventually, these SKUs should be donated, recycled or dumpstered.

Items that have been on their final markdown tier for over 30 days and not removed will show in your Floor Exception report under the Closeout Management label maintenance section.

  • Steps to remove unsold obsolete inventory:

Make sure the MIP & Label step has been completed for the current month. The removal process can be performed by a department head and/or during shooting outs and is best done in the 2nd or 3rd week of the month.

    1. Login to the Eagle Mobile+ app.
    2. Click on Physical -> by Item.
    3. During regular department maintenance or shooting outs locate tags in the aisle where the retail price ends in zero.
    4. Remove the item(s) and scan them to verify the item's SKU matches the bin tag SKU (If it doesn't then find it's correct home) then place them in a green "closeout" tote.
    5. In the location field, change the SKU's Location to DRxx (xx=the current year, e.g. DR24).
    6. Set the Count to 0 and click +Add.
    7. Remove the hook and/or tag.
    8. Continue steps 4 - 8 as you go through your store/department.
    9. When finished removing items from the shelf, place them in a donation bin to take to your local Habitat for Humanity ReStore® or similar donation partner. Or destroy according to your store policy.
    10. When the bin is full schedule a pickup or drop-off.
    11. Rest easy knowing you're one step closer to being clean of obsolete & unproductive inventory!
