MIP & Label

The steps below take you through the (monthly) process of managing your closeout promotion in your store. Your system contacts Mango on the 2nd of the month to build the necessary pieces for COM which is why we'd advise waiting until the 3rd to process these instructions.

    • If this is your first month activating Mango's Closeout Promotion file then please skip this step.

      1. Open Eagle Browser
      2. In the Launch Bar, type in MIP and press Enter
      3. Verify the new promotion file is in your system, this usually doesn't happen until the 3rd day of the month.
      4. In the Type drop-down select the currently active closeout promo, example CLEAR01 (01 represents the month, January. If it were August it would be CLEAR08)

      11. In the top ribbon, click on Change (F5)

      20. Do you wish to exit, click Yes
      21. The promotion is activated!
    • A common question is why the Label # doesn't match the MIP # and this is because many SKUs will stay at their price for 2-3 months before moving to the next tier. The labeling process only has you print labels where the price is changing and we've found this can help reduce labor by up to 50% vs. print labels for every SKU in the promotion.

      1. From Eagle Browser, click Label Design & Printing Menu
      2. Click Item Bin Labels (RBL)
      3. Click #4 - Promotion File
      4. Print Setup -> Print To -> S (spooler only)
      5. Options -> Label to Use -> 2
      6. If Multi-Store, From/ To -> Store -> select the store you're in/working on
      7. From / To -> Promo Type -> type the active closeout promo, example CLEAR05 in the FROM and TO field (05 represents the month, May. If it were September it would be CLEAR09)
      8. In the top ribbon, press Run (F4)
      9. Return to Eagle Browser, click Label Design & Printing Menu
      10. Click Print Inventory Labels
      11. If there are any items listed, delete them from the view before continuing
      12. In the top ribbon, click Import (F9)
      13. A new window will appear, from the Source dropdown select Bin Label Report (RBL), click OK
      14. Click the checkbox for COM LABELS FOR MANGO with a created date of today, then click To Label Mgr
      15. This may take a few minutes to load. Be patient.
      16. In the top ribbon, click All/None (+) and click Print
      17. Select Ace Markdown Label and click Open
      18. Select the correct printer and click Ok
      19. Hang the labels and shelf talkers to start selling through your dead inventory!
    • Like any busy retail environment staff turnover occurs, months fly by, and Closeout Management sometimes gets skipped. This step is designed to help keep MIP clean and prevent confusion when processing COM. By the time you've made it to this step you should have activated the current month's MIP file and printed bin labels and there should be no other CLEARXX MIP files in your system; if there are please follow the steps below.

      1. Open Eagle
      2. In the Launch Bar, type in MIP and press Enter
      3. In the Type drop-down scroll until you find the start of "C"
      4. You should be able to locate the current month's CLEAR file (for this examples we'll assume it's February) CLEAR02. If you see another CLEAR in your system, like CLEAR12, click on it and press Enter
      5. Once the SKUs load, locate the "Check Boxes" column (far left)
      6. Right click on the header and click Load and Select All
      7. In the top ribbon, click Delete (F10), a new window will appear and press Yes. This may take a few moments to delete.
      8. Repeat steps 4-7 until any old CLEAR files has been removed from MIP.
