Location 3 holds the number of units that fit on your sales floor (shelf or peg hook, including secondary locations).
- You can do this as part of regular department maintenance when you purge back stock, and when putting stock away.
- On Truck Day - any SKUs placed in top stock or back stock need to have Location 3 information updated.
Onboarding SKUs into Back Stock Replenishment
A RF gun or Zebra unit is a great tool for getting SKUs onto the back stock program. Under the Location Maintenance menu, location 3 data can easily be entered on SKUs. In the example below I have 2 facings of 5 for Great Stuff crack filler, so I've entered 10 into Location 3. Common examples: Spray Paint - 6 per facing, gallons of paint - 4 per facing, etc. Below are the steps for getting SKUs onto the program.

Backroom Task
- Login to the Eagle Mobile+ app.
- Under the Inventory menu, click Item Lists.
- At the bottom of the screen, click New.
- Give the list a name "BackStock" and click the + symbol.
- Scan a SKU in Back Stock.
- Click the +Add button.
- Continue scanning all the SKUs in your Back Stock and Top Stock, repeating steps 5 and 6.
- Once complete, click the ". . ." in the lower right.
- Select Build Label Manager File, a new window will appear, select Done.
- Proceed to a computer and open Eagle Browser.
- Select Label Design and Printing Menu -> Print Inventory Labels.
- In the header, select Import.
- From the Source dropdown, select Eagle Mobile and click OK.
- Select the list you created from your Zebra, change the Label Format to Price Label and click To Label Mgr.
- Locate and double click the Location column to print in location order.
- If some SKUs already have shelf capacity they can be filtered out using Location 3.
- Right-click on the Location 3 column header.
- Click Filter on Location 3...
- Select Is Blank and click Apply Filter.
- In the header, click All/None (+) and then Print (Ctrl + P).
- Select a bin label, your standard bin label is perfect, and click Open.
- Confirm the correct Printer is selected, click OK.
- Retrieve the paper from the printer, attach to a clipboard and proceed to Sales Floor Task below.
Sales Floor Task
- Login to the Eagle Mobile+ app.
- Under the Inventory menu, click Location Maint.
- With your clipboard of SKUs, locate the first item out on the floor.
- Scan the SKU or the bin label and count how many fit to make a full shelf, enter that value into Location 3.
- If the shelf isn't completely full, estimate how many will fit, enter that value into Loc3, and write the difference on the label to refill your shelf to full capacity. See minute mark 4:00 from the video above.
- Click Save.
- Continue this process for all the remaining SKUs on your labels list, repeating steps 4 and 5.
Optional - Location 4
For stores interested in giving SKUs in back stock a location we recommend using Location 4. This is displayed in the app and allows for quicker picking each day. Common locations included TOP (top stock), BACK (backroom), BSMT (basement), OUT (outside), and many more. This can be expanded to TOP05 for top stock in aisle 5.
Additional Info
Using Location 3 to indicate shelf quantity has multiple benefits in Mango.
- Paper Count Sheets will show a
for SKUs where the quantity-on-hand (at month end) was greater than the shelf capacity (Location 3). This helps prompt your counters to look in back stock for additional quantities when processing Mango's Count Sheets.
- Shrink Report shows BS+ in the Research Reason column indicating a possible incorrect count to a SKU in a back stock position (a common occurrence).
- You can set up PIP to show Loc3, which is a big help with variance research!

If you can fit 12 cans of spray paint on your shelf then enter 12 in Location 3 (click on Location in Inventory Maintenance to bring up the Location Code Maintenance window).

- The Shelf quantity printed on the bin tag indicates a SKU with possible back stock which is helpful for department maintenance and customer service.
- Open Eagle Browser.
- Click on "Label Design and Printing Menu."
- Click on "Design Inventory Labels."
- Click "Load Lbl" (F6) and open the label that your store uses.
- Click "Add Fld" (F4) and a new box pops up.
- Add Location 3.
- Double-click the new field and select the options in the screenshot below for Location 3 Code (click "Don't print title field if Blank), click OK.
- Move the Loc 3 field into a place where it fits and can be easily read.
- Do the same for Location 2 (set it to print underneath Location 1 but with a smaller font as shown in the tag below.)
- Save the change by clicking "Save Lbl" (F5).
- Save to the label your store uses and overwrite the previous file.

Backroom Task
- Login to the Mobile+ app.
- Under the Products menu, click Lists.
- At the bottom of the screen, click Add List.
- Give the list a name "BackStock" and make sure the List Type is set to "Standard."
- Select your store in the store drop-down.
- Click the Save & Exit button.
- In the Search box, type the name of your Back Stock list and click on the list.
- Scan a SKU in Back Stock.
- Continue scanning each unique SKU in your Back Stock and Top Stock.
- Once complete, proceed to a computer and open Propello.
- Under the Products menu, select Products.
- Click the Table View button in the upper right.
- Click the Advanced Filter button next to the search button.
- In the Lists search box, find the Backstock list and click the check box.
- Press Search.
- If some SKUs already have shelf capacity they can be filtered out using Capacity.
- Click the Settings gear near the top right of the table.
- Search for Cap 1 and click the check box.
- On the grid, click the filter icon next to Cap 1.
- Set the Operate to "Is Equal To"
- In the Value box, type 0 and click filter.
- Double-click the Prim Loc column to sort in location order.
- Click the select all check box in the upper left.
- Click the Print Label button.
- Under Label Name select your standard bin label format.
- Under Label printer select your printer of choice.
- Under Quantity to print select One label.
- Under print Sequence, select option Store/Bin Location/Item.
- Click Print.
- Retrieve the paper from the printer, attach it to a clipboard, and proceed to the Sales Floor Task below.

- Click on settings at the bottom of the screen.
- Flip the View & Update Capacity toggle on (green).
- Press Save.
